Writing It All Over Again

With almost 94 million blogs tracked by Technorati at this moment, there is hardly a topic that isn't already covered in the blogosphere. And then, those about blogging (so-called meta-blogging), Internet and the web are probably most popular. So, why should I, or anybody else, start another one on that subject? Why talking it all over again? There are couple of reasons:

  • Recapitulation. I remember my faculty days when my studying wasn't finished until I am ready to write a lesson from what I've just learned. And then, writing something like that can be a good reference when I need to refresh my memory. More than once it happened to me that somebody's notes are more useful than the original book that person was studying from. Sometimes it was about concise writing, sometimes it was just the style that was on my wave-length. So, hopefully, my recapitulations and notes might be of use to you too.
  • It is not only what you say, but how you say it. Themes and subjects may be finite, but each can be approached in infinite ways. They say that if we were waiting for new, never covered questions nothing would be written since Plato. And it would be real pity.

  • It is not just about giving information, it is about making a community. More than sitting here and writing I like to talk. Exchanging thoughts  leads both you and me to the new ideas. That is what is blogging really about, exchanging. That is why comment field is down there. In that context, not two blogs are the same.
  • It may be a starting point for something really new. Despite the aforementioned 94 millions of blogs, and presumption that everything is covered so far, there is always room for something new to be discovered. This field is the nose of our civilization that runs faster and faster every day. We are far away from the ages when we thought knowledge is finite. It is not about learning anymore, it is about running along and seeing things for the first time.
