Social Media Mega Project: Second Life
Social Media Mega Project is group writing project started by Vivien from Inspiration Bit. It covers 19 social media networks (you know, all the web 2.0 stuff) and second life. The main idea is to share knowledge and experiences about various social media and networks. And it is not about exchanging links, it's about exchanging information and meeting people. I am hosting the second life part of the project at Living in the Metaverse but some of the writings will be posted here at Cybernautika.

What do we actually do and how?
- Write a post on your blog (or make some visual art or use whatever is your mean of expression) and share with us how do you integrate this social media site (that is: second life) into your blogging, work and life; tell us about your good or bad experience; what do you like or don’t like about it, how did you benefit from becoming a frequent user of this site, what secrets have you learned about it, what tips or warnings would you like to inform others about?
- Contact me with your name, email and a permalink to your post. If you don’t have your own blog, you can always write a guest post here, or simply send me your thoughts by contacting me here or inworld.
- Once I collect the links from all participants and publish them, you can write another post and link to either all or only your favourite articles by other bloggers.
- You are allowed to contribute only one article per project/site. You are more than welcome to visit other participating blogs that host projects dedicated to the different social media sites and take part in those projects by submitting your articles about other social networking sites.
This will be interesting to do as Second life is not a networking site nor even a social media. Actually, residents of the second life doesn't always agree about what it is. Nor do Linden Lab, the creators and maintainers of the platform it works on.
My attempt of introduction to Second Life will come in the week or so and you are free to start thinking about yours. Second life part of this whoe project is hosted around Living in the Metaverse blog but all the posts related to this project will be mirrored here where I'll also probably do a bit more of covering this mega project.
Dates:
- Submissions start: Monday, January 21st
- Submissions end: Friday, March 22nd
- Collaborative entries (please read below) will be published on InspirationBit, on March 29th
EDIT: Deadlines are postponed oe month. And my lazyness is celebrating that.
Good luck with this new blog and the project, dandellion. I was wondering what your plans are for cybernautika, kept checking it from to time, glad you finally decided to take it to the next step.
